CHURCH ON THE MOVE - Sedalia, MO

Steve has been pastor of the Church on the MOVE- UPC since June 2001. He and his wife have evangelized throughout Missouri, and the surrounding states for over 14 years, while working as an engineer in a local plant. His wife, Kay, teaches in the local school system, and together, along with other activities, they are involved in children's ministry. Their daughter, Alishia, recently graduated (2005) from MU High School in Columbia after transferring credits from our local church school (Apostolic Christian Academy). She also teaches Sunday School, and is involved in the Youth Committee Outreach.

Mark and Jan Patton have been lay ministers for over 10 years. They are gifted in developing new converts into the full measure of Christ. Their ministry composes of maintaining church related relationships with visitors, as well as, the community of Sedalia. They are also instrumental in teaching new converts a discipleship training course entitled “In My Father’s House”. Those who complete this 20 week course immediately feel their need to support the effort of revival.

Rev. William Stark is a retired pastor, who has joined the Church on the MOVE in its outreach method. Rev. Stark is responsible for the foreign missions sponsorship program entitled “Faith Promise”. Our local church theme is “Giving Beyond Our Walls”. Since the church has been giving unselfishly to missions, our members have experience tremendous blessing that only God can give.

Doris Burgess was one of the first members of the Church on the MOVE. Over 40 years ago her family experienced the baptism of the Holy Ghost; and began pray that God would send a preacher to Sedalia to pastor their family. Doris was a faithful member of the church for many years, and enjoyed the continual growth. To many people in Sedalia she was the cake lady but, to her church family, she was a jewel.

Patricia Sartain (Pat) has been a faithful member at Church on the MOVE for over twenty years. In the early 1980’s she, and her now pastor, Rev. Steve Palmer, gave their hearts to God within weeks apart. Pat has spent many years teaching in the Sunday School Department, and now has taken the responsibility of church secretary, assisting Doris in the office. She is also a proud grandmother, and a recent college grad.
